The Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS) has its Mission of being 
the best provider of opportunities for acquisition, development, promotion, dissemination and preservation 
of knowledge and skills in cooperative, community, business organizational and entrepreneurship and any 
other area as may be determined by the University College through training, research and consultancy 
activities thus contributing to poverty alleviation initiatives and development of the associative economy. 
 

Applications are invited from qualified and highly motivated Tanzanians to fill the following vacant of 
Academic and Administrative positions at the Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business 
Studies (MUCCoBS), located in Moshi Municipality as follows: 

1.0 SENIOR LECTURER (4 POSTS) RE-ADVERTISED 
• Extension /Community Development – 1 Post 
• Law – 1 Post 
• Website Design and Management – 1 Post 
• Planning – 1 Post 

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate (Masters and PhD) Students through lecturing, 
conducting seminars, tutorials and practical; 
• Carrying out field supervision; 
• Mentoring junior staff in all relevant matters; 
• Participating in curricula development; 
• Participating in developing and managing of various University College projects; 
• Designing and developing research proposals; 
• Undertaking research and publishing research results; 
• Conducting training, conferences, workshops and seminars; 
• Carrying out outreach and community services;

• Undertaking consultancy; 
• Writing teaching manuals, compendia and books; 
• Proposing new courses and programmes; 
• Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student’s projects; 
• Attending workshops, conferences and symposia; 
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the relevant authority. 

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCES 
• Possession of a PhD in relevant functional area; 
• At least five years as a lecturer as per Academic Staff Promotion Criteria.

2.0 LECTURER (11 POSTS) RE-ADVERTISED

2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Teaching through lecturing, conducting tutorials, seminars and practicals for undergraduate 
and Master’s programmes; 
• Carrying out field supervision

3.0 ASSISTANT LECTURER (13 POSTS) RE-ADVERTISED

3.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Conducting lectures and practicals for undergraduate programmes and assisting senior staff in 
lecturers and practicals, seminars, tutorials for postgraduate programmes as part of their learning; 
• Preparing case studies; 
• Conducting and/or assisting in tutorials and seminars;  4
• Working in co-operation with senior members on specific projects; 
• Supervising special projects for undergraduate students; 
• Designing and developing research proposals; 
• Conducting and publishing research results; 
• Carrying out consultancy and community services; 
• Assisting in writing teaching manuals and compendia; 
• Attending workshops, conferences and symposia; 
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the relevant authority. 

3.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS 
• Masters degree with “B” average in a relevant functional area and must have obtained an 
upper second class having a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the first degree from recognized higher 
learning Institution. 

3.1.3 REMUNERATION 
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the University College’s salary scale PUTS 2 – 3 

4.0 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (2 POSTS) RE-ADVERTISED 
• Communication Skills – 2 Posts 

4.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Understudying senior members including attending lectures and seminars, tutorials and 
practicals; 
• Undertaking tutorials, seminars and practicals; 
• Assisting in research, consultancy and outreach activities; 
• Any other duty that may be assigned by relevant authority 

4.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND AGE LIMIT 
• Possession of a first degree from a recognized higher learning Institutions and must have obtained 
an upper second class having a minimum GPA of 3.8 
• Not above 30 years

5.0 ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN 1 POST 
5.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Handing matters pertaining to lending out and receipt of books; 
• Assisting in automating the library catalogue and circulation services; 
• Assisting in cataloguing and classification of books; 
• Assisting in indexing of periodicals and journals; 
• Re-shelving of books left by readers on study tables; 
• Assist in acquisitions of library materials by selecting, ordering receiving and recording them; 
• Assisting readers in searching for information in the computer through the CD-ROMs, 
internet and shelves; 
• Assisting in abstracting service and giving advice to readers; 
• Conducting lecturers; 
• Preparing case studies, 
• Conducting and/or assisting in tutorials and seminars; 
• Working in co-operation with senior members on specific projects; 
• Supervising special projects for undergraduate students; 
• Conducting research and publishing research results; 
• Carrying out consultancy and community services; 
• Writing teaching manuals and compendia; 
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the relevant authority. 

5.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS 
• Possession of a Masters degree in a relevant functional area and must have obtained an upper 
second class in the first degree from recognized higher learning Institution. 

5.1.3 REMUNERATION 
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the University College’s salary scale PUTS 2 - 3 

6.0 SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER (1 POST) - Kizumbi Campus 
6.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Recruiting staff; 
• Staff remuneration and promotions; 
• Collecting, tabulating and analyzing manpower statistics;  6
• Acting as joint contact between workers representatives and Management; 
• Guiding and Counseling of staff; 
• Attending to disciplinary matters; 
• Preparing periodic reports; 
• Manpower planning and development; 
• Staff counseling; 
• Ensuring implementation of various directives or decisions; 
• Any other duty that may be assigned by relevant authority. 

6.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES 
Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Industrial Sociology, Business 
Administration or Labour Law with at least five (5) years relevant working experience in a similar field 
plus ICT Skills. 

6.1.3 REMUNERATION 
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the University College’s salary scale PGSS 16 - 17 

7.0 SENIOR OFFICE MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II (1 POST) 
7.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Arranging and managing meetings; 
• Ordering requirements of the office; 
• Mentoring junior staff; 
• Custodian of Confidential matters; 
• Keeping Diary of appointments for the officer; 
• Any other duty that may be assigned by relevant authority 

7.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES 
Possession of Ordinary Diploma in Secretarial duties and Management from recognized Institution with at 
least Seven (7) years working experience plus ICT Skills. 

7.1.3 REMUNERATION 
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the University College’s salary scale PGSS 13 - 14 

8.0 SENIOR ATTENDANT I (1 POST) - Kizumbi Campus 
8.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Overall in-charge of the unit; 
• Requesting for work equipments of the team;  7
• Keeping records of movements of documents, equipments etc; 
• Running sensitive errands. 
8.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES 
Completion of form IV education with a pass in English and has attended attendant’s course and have at 
least six (6) years working experience plus ICT Skills. 

8.1.3 REMUNERATION 
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the University College’s salary scale PUTS 2 – 3
